Floppy disks are often used to keep important data, so they require special care.

As we all know, a floppy is a great fix for putting under a leg of a leaning table. But for this purpose it is recommended that you use only the floppies with less important data, not the ones with naked-girls' pictures from Internet; otherwise later you shall watch system messages instead of beauties, which can have a very annoying effect on some people.

Similary, every dog-owner knows that a floppy is an ideal artefact for the "Fetch!" game. It allows for a good grip, flies very well and far, and is of an ideal size for the dog to bite. But one mustn't forget that dog has sharp and strong teeth and a very sleazy mouth, which can afflict some cheaper floppies with a lasting damage!

If we want to use an electric drill to cut a couple holes in a very important floppy, it is recommended that we first check it's contents with some Norton-tool to find the position of used blocks so we don't hit a part of the disk with crucial data.

Futhermore, one of the main factors of proper floppy-disk maintenance is the place we keep them in. It has to be dark, cool and dry. The bottom of a water-well, for instance, is dark and cool, but it is rather wet. If that's the place of your choice, you'll do good to attach the floppy to a piece of fishing-thread, so you can simply pull it out when you need it, thus cleverly avoiding the need to go to the bottom of the well yourself. (when you pull it out, first dry it in an oven a couple hours on highest temperature).

If, on the other hand, you plan to keep your floppies on train-rails, it is best to choose a railroad less used, because when a train (espec. a cargo-train), in all it's length, runs over a floppy, data on it can become so stiff that even the newest WinZip can't decompress them.
